ATP STAR & BRAND AMBASSADOR

Psycho Bunny’s first-ever tennis Brand Ambassador, Alexei is the embodiment of the Psycho Bunny brand — a fierce competitor with unwavering confidence, energy, and an undeniable edge. His passion and boldness on the court align perfectly with Psycho Bunny’s ethos, making him the ideal ambassador for a brand that champions the spirit of standing out and embracing individuality. Currently ranked 25th in the world by the ATP, he’s won three singles titles, including a Masters 1000 in Montreal, and represented Australia in the Olympics. We met up with Alexei prior to the Australian Open and asked him some questions about tennis and life off the court.

Q: YOU STARTED PLAYING TENNIS AT THE AGE OF 4, DID YOU ALWAYS HAVE THAT COMPETITIVE DRIVE AND LOVE OF THE GAME?

A: I am certainly not short on drive or love for the game.  I surround myself only with people who share the same mindset and have the same will to win. I love putting everything I have into playing and I have never been afraid to leave it all on the court.

Q: HOW DID IT FEEL TO REPRESENT AUSTRALIA IN THE DAVIS CUP AND THEN IN THE OLYMPICS?

A: There is no better feeling than representing your country on the world stage. When you know you have the support of your home country, the energy level is automatically upped a notch. I am always looking for ways to feed off the energy in the stadium, so knowing you have an entire nation behind you is a pretty special feeling.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR? HAVE YOU SET ANY GOALS?

A: I’m not really the type of person who likes to set specific goals for a season. I’m more of the type of person who is willing to put in all the hard work both on and off the court and let my performance speak for itself. The results are a direct offshoot of all the work I am willing to put in. My career to this point has been focused on trying to improve year by year and when I look back, after a year on tour, I want to see an improvement from the beginning of the season right to the end. The season is a real grind and I want to be able to reflect with my team and be proud of the work that we put in to get the opportunity to succeed on the court.

Q: WHAT ARE SOME COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT BEING A TOP TENNIS PLAYER?

A: The length of the season is something that you don’t necessarily think about when you are coming up. The reality of a different country almost every week is a challenge that we are constantly navigating. There is a mental aspect to keeping focused and to be able to keep the body in shape to compete at the highest level. We all know it comes with the territory, but it is certainly a new challenge to live it and to be able to continue to see positive results on the court.

Q: WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUNG UP AND COMING TENNIS PLAYERS ABOUT PLANNING THEIR OWN CAREERS?

A: It might sound a little clichéd, but you need to love what you’re doing! It is a privilege to get to do what you love as a job, without taking any moment for granted. When you keep putting in the work, success will inevitably follow.

Q: YOU’VE RECENTLY BECOME PSYCHOBUNNY’S FIRST-EVER TENNIS BRAND AMBASSADOR. TELL US HOW YOU FIRST DISCOVERED THE PSYCHOBUNNY BRAND.

A: I first saw Psycho Bunny about 3 years ago playing in Cincinnati. I tried on a pair of sweat pants and I was hooked. I have basically not taken them off since!

Q: WHAT RESONATES WITH YOU MOST ABOUT PSYCHO BUNNY?

A: The creativity of their products, the design and the quality, I just can’t say enough about the quality. Their designs are always fun, but always with a touch of class. We have also already started planning my kits for the upcoming season. What I really love is the ability to collaborate with the team and to have the chance to showcase my personality through the designs we have come up with on the court. There will be some really special kits coming up!

Q: ANY PERSONAL PSYCHO BUNNY FAVOURITES?

A: Some of my favorite pieces from the brand are the James collection and all of the graphic tees, which I’m always wearing during practice sessions.

Psycho Bunny wishes Alexi the best of luck in the 2025 season and we look forward to countless Bold victories in the future! In the meantime, we invite you to:
